Even as the US pushes against Chinese tech influence in the Western world - such as leading the charge against Huawei’s involvement in the UK’s 5G infrastructure - it is ignoring where the real progress is being made by Beijing’s Digital Silk Road, the emerging markets
China is exporting its tech and its associated standards to the rest of the world through a public-private partnership. When US companies try to work in emerging markets they are often called out for “technological colonialism”
Unless the US makes a concerted effort to target the emerging world with its technology infrastructure then it will find itself outmanoeuvred on the global stage by China
